“And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof” – Ezekiel 9:4
In the above verse God tells the prophet Ezekiel to make a “mark” on the foreheads on the people who follow God and will be saved in Jerusalem. The word mark that is used in this passage in Hebrew is Tav which is their letter T. In the Hebrew at the time of Ezekiel the letter Tav was in the shape of a cross.

So if we read the passage in light of this we see that the people in Jerusalem which are obedient and that will be saved have a cross on their foreheads, which is also has a symbolic meaning that if we follow Christ and are Obedient to him people should be able to see this by the way we live our lives. We shouldn’t need a cross on our foreheads to show we are bearing the cross. This mention of the cross also shows us that Jesus is the one true God of Israel, the I AM!
It Is not coincidental that we get hints of Jesus’ crucifixion in the Old Testament, because the death on the cross for our salvation is a recurring theme in the Bible until the fulfilment of this in the Gospels, Acts, Epistles and Revelations.
